Feel the Green – Milan
Feel the Yarn launched their first ‘Feel the Green’ event during Milan fashion week which was a combination of B2B (spinners meeting their customers), 6 panel discussions, a trend area, and a student fashion installation.
How women are impacting the mohair industry

Heritage Ram Sale
History was made when four of the oldest Angora studs in the world, Martyrsford Angoras est 1871, Borden Angoras est 1898, Thorn Park Angoras est 1876 and Wheatlands Angoras est 1849, came together at one venue for the first time and offered their top Angora rams.
Mohair exports in 2022
Traditionally the countries importing the most mohair tops from South Africa are Italy, China, and the UK and 2022 was no different.

The South African mohair industry currently has six buyers purchasing mohair on the 14 official mohair auctions.

As we know, Italy is a major destination for our mohair tops and while a lot is consumed by the Italian spinners, these yarns are used by many top and medium end brands around the world.

On the Cusp Series: The celebration of textile art with Frances van Hasselt
This local artist is all about honouring the art of working with mohair. Design is a way to capture stories and memories of places and spaces and recreate these moments into objects.
Time to celebrate GUGUBYGUGU at SA Fashion Week
Gugu Peteni studied fashion and textile design at the Nelson Mandela University (Cum Laude honours, 2017). Post-graduate, she worked as the in-house designer and retail manager for Mohair SA for three years, and in the process started her own fashion brand GUGUBYGUGU.
The Fashion Bridges Project
Last year the mohair, wool and cotton industries were invited to join this project, the great idea of the current Italian Ambassador to SA’s wife. She saw so much talent that she wanted to assist by opening doors to their fashion industry.
Training at Grootfontein College of Agriculture
Beauty Mokgwamme continues to provide the annual mohair training for Grootfontein College of Agriculture, she loves it and is very grateful that she can still contribute by teaching mohair classing skills to Grootfontein students.
