Karoo Angoras Ram sale

Karoo Angoras & Nelspoort Merino’s proudly presented their 4th annual production sale at Baakensrug, Nelspoort on February 8, 2023.

Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes this event work! The Karoo Angora’s goal has always been to add value and to contribute to the Angora industry. They do so by gathering info and presenting each ram with individual stats measured over 11 months. They are proud to present animals that will thrive in harsh conditions.

Karoo Angoras presented their largest auction of Angora rams up to date. They divided rams in three categories:  Stud rams (on average R17 900), Selected Flock (on average R11 111) and Flock rams (on average R5 604). Lot 22 achieved the highest price of R28000. MJ Koorts CK & Seun from Prince Albert bought it. Flock farmers were able to buy rams for as low as R4 000.

The ladies of Karoo Angoras added value to the industry, by presenting a morning filled with delicate gourmet goat canapés. Mouth-watering kebabs, pâté, sausages, meatballs and pulled goat meat, stretched our minds, and made us value a product not known to everybody. A cocktail demonstration and a professional photoshoot concluded the day for the ladies.

The next intake of rams will take place at the beginning of March 2023. The Karoo Angoras would like to thank everybody involved and they looking forward to see you back at Baakensrug next year.
