Before Natural Fibre Connect 2023 began, we enjoyed an insightful visit to Manteco. This esteemed Italian Textile company specialises in producing luxury, sustainable fabrics and jerseys derived from animal fibres.

Manteco excels in transforming meticulously selected remnants from the finest luxury garments and worsted cloth into recycled materials, exemplifying a truly luxurious circular economy in action.

Test and Innovation Lab (TIL)

Our next stop in Prato was the Test and Innovation Lab (TIL), a state-of-the-art testing laboratory specialising in chemical and mechanical analysis of textile products.

Within the labs, many tests are conducted, such as evaluating the impact of a particular handbag on clothing when worn together, assessing the durability of a silver handbag by repeatedly opening and closing it, and gauging the robustness of shoe soles.
