Our visit to Vuya Knitwear provided us with a firsthand manufacturing experience, as owner Jacques Burthy led us on a factory tour.

Handling the beautiful mohair designs crafted for South African designers was inspiring. From elaborate patterns to sumptuous textures and vibrant hues, these creations showcased mohair's incredible versatility and exceptional quality. Seeing local brands embracing mohair and elevating the fibre’s presence in the domestic fashion market was encouraging.

Additionally, our team had the privilege of experiencing mohair sock production in action at Cape Mohair, where Johan Gouws hosted our visit. This glimpse into the manufacturing process further underscored the importance of supporting local initiatives and fostering collaborations within the mohair industry.
